Police have taken six persons into custody in connection with the suspected case of human sacrifice on the night of lunar eclipse and investigations continued to establish the identity of the infant whose head was recovered from the roof of a house in Uppal area.

Those taken into custody on Saturday include three relatives of Rajasekhar, a cab driver from whose roof the head was recovered. Deputy Commissioner of Police Umamaheshwar Sharma said that there were suspicions that the three were involved in black rituals on the night of lunar eclipse as a part of which human sacrifice was performed to attain magical powers.

The police took the suspects into custody after evaluating the footage of some of the CCTV cameras in the area around Rajasekhar's house.

“We still don't know the identity of the baby or the motive behind the grisly crime”, he said. The recovery of the head of a baby has sent shock waves in Chilakanagar colony in Uppal.
