An Australian woman was recently shocked to find her credit card that previously had a limit of $50,000 suddenly had an available balance of nearly $10 million. The 49-year-old, Sue lamb, was taking money out of her business credit card account at an ATM and noticed her available balance had changed to $9,990,420.

“Just checked my credit card which has a limit of $50k and guess what! I’m a millionaire!!” she posted on Facebook. “Check out the balance. Plus I’ve got no debt on it sooo strange. lol woo hooo let’s goooooo girls Tahiti sounds nice. Best I fess up (sic).” “The available balance on the BOQ ATM receipt refers to the amount of the monthly spend cap (monthly spend cap less any spend from that month) rather than the available credit,” a spokeswoman from the credit card company, ANZ, said.

The bank changed the balance to the original amount but also left lamb with $7,500 in overdraft fees, despite the fact she reported the incident. “The bank have just left me with a massive debt and won’t pick up my calls,” she told the Gold Coast Bulletin. “It is disgusting that they can treat people like this.”

Funeral director faked 77 deaths for insurance money

It is said that running a funeral parlour can be quite an undertaking. But one funeral director was apparently so desperate to pay off his bills and business costs that he faked the deaths of more than 70 people to pocket the insurance money.

Robin George Knight, 45, exploited the prepaid funeral contracts of 77 clients to fake their deaths so he could pay off his bills, the court heard. And a judge at Holden Hills Magistrates Court in Adelaide, Australia, sentenced Knight to three years in jail after he pleaded guilty to around 100 counts of theft and deception.

Woman charged with child and animal sex abuse

A 26-year-old woman could face life behind bars after she was charged with aggravated rape stemming from a video that, police say, shows her sexually assaulting a then 3-year-old and having sex with a dog.Angeline lodice of Old Jefferson, louisiana, was charged this week with aggravated rape, sexual battery and production of child pornography, according to the Times-Picayune.

The aggravated rape charge carries a maximum sentence of life behind bars. An arrest report filed last fall said there is footage of lodice sexually assaulting a 3-year-old child. Another recording allegedly showed lodice raping a dog. Sheriff’s deputies said lodice admitted she was the woman in the videos, but that she could not identify the child in the video because she “believed she was drugged.”

The footage was obtained by authorities after one of lodice’s relatives sent it to the child’s father and the dad called police. lodice’s lawyer said she will plead not guilty by reason of insanity, according to the Times-Picayune.She’s expected to undergo a mental evaluation in which “doctors would attempt to determine whether lodice knew right from wrong at the time of the crimes,” the paper said.
