Valentine’s Day with Roy
Actress Jacqueline Fernandez's forthcoming film Roy will hit the screens on Feb 13, a day before Valentine's Day. The Sri lankan beauty says it will be the perfect treat for the audiences as it has an interesting love story. “I'm very excited that Roy is releasing in Valentine's Day week. It is actually a suspense drama but it's also a very romantic love story. I think it would be the perfect watch to go for on Valentine's Day,” Jacqueline said at an event.
Roy is love triangle starring Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor in key roles. Jacqueline is playing a double role in it. Meanwhile, when asked about her V-Day plans, she said: “I don't have a Valentine's Day plan...I mean not any romantic plan because I'm going for the premiere of Roy. I think that will probably the best way I can celebrate my VDay.”
Guess who else is super thrilled about RoyIJ None other than veteran actor Randhir Kapoor, known for hit films like Jeet, Raampur Ka lakshman and Jawani Diwani, says his nephew Ranbir Kapoor is the most intelligent actor in the Hindi film industry today. Ranbir is the son of Randhir's younger brother Rishi Kapoor's son with veteran actress Neetu Singh.
Randhir was at a radio studio in Mumbai when he was asked what he thinks sets Ranbir apart from his own and Rishi's generation. He said: “Ranbir is a very intelligent actor and he is one of my favourite actor in the present generation. He is very good and he is very intense. He is doing a wonderful job and his choice of films is good.” Ranbir, will next be seen in Roy.
Sweet gesture, says Vidya
Vidya Balan finds it ‘sweet’ on producer Dia Mirza's part to question why the actress' performance in Bobby Jasoos was not nominated for any leading film awards. However, the National Award winner says she has no regrets about it. Vidya's 2014 film Bobby Jasoos received a fair response from the audience and critics, but it failed to make a cut in all the major awards, including at the 60th Filmfare Awards. Recently, Dia expressed her disapproval and posted a series of tweets on the same. Dia tweeted: “Articles, reviews stated that her performance was excellent. But when it came to nominations she was completely ignored. WhyIJ #VidyaBalan.
“I have always celebrated the achievements of my industry/colleagues and I will continue to. But I ask, why has #VidyaBalan been ignoredIJ” On being asked about the same, Vidya said: “Actually, (it was) so sweet of her (Dia Mirza) to say that. It's our film, obviously we feel bad. We feel we should get nominated...but, I think there is a jury who decided on the nominations and we should respect that. It's good to know that there is so much good work happening that they are finding it difficult to choose the nominations. I've no regrets about not being nominated. I'll be there (at the 60th Filmfare Awards night) to cheer my fraternity.”
On the film front, Vidya will be next seen in Mohit Suri's Hamari Adhuri Kahani, which also stars Emraan Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao in key roles.
