Cabinet panel clears NH four/two-laning New Delhi:
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Saturday gave its approval for development of the four laning/ two laning of the Chandikhole-Dubari-Talcher section of National Highway-200 and National Highway-23 in Odisha. This work will be under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase-III. The approval is in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode.
Non-gazetted railway staff to get bonus
New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Saturday gave ex-post facto approval for the payment of Productivity linked Bonus equivalent to 78 days wages for 2013-14 to all non-gazetted Railway employees. About 12.60 lakh employees are likely to benefit from the decision, which is being paid as a special case to motivate employees. The financial implication of this has been estimated to be Rs 1,063.38 crores. The Cabinet also approved construction of 35.96 km long first phase of Ahmedabad Metro Rail project. The project is likely to cost exchequer Rs. 10,773 crore and is likely to benefit about 6.3 million people.
