Couple married for 72 years die just one day apart
After being married 72 years, June and Norbert Rogers of South Carolina died just one day apart.Their story seems fit for a Nicholas Sparks movie. They eloped in 1941, when Norbert was in the Navy and June was still in her teens. Her mother said it wouldn’t last, but the couple proved her wrong, staying married seven decades and having five children together. They also had 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, according to their joint obituary.
While June was known to be seriously ill before her death this month, her husband was believed to have been in good health, according to reports. However, it was Norbert who went first, mere hours before his wife of 72 years. He was 97. She was 89.Wes Crisp, a friend of the Rogers family, said, “I believe he willed himself to go before she did because there were no visible signs that he was sick. So you could say, I guess, that he died of a broken heart.”

Man bites dog during attack
A Kansas man is feeling lucky to be alive after he was viciously attacked by two dogs outside his home on Monday.Riley Carter Jr of Kansas City was able to escape from the boxers by biting one of them in the neck and then climbing over a railing onto his front porch.“I had to actually hold him up and stand him. I bit him behind his neck just to hold him there. I held him there until I got exhausted, trying to fight off the second dog at the same time,” Carter told KCTV. “I thought I was actually going to die in front of my house.”
According to Carter, he bit down on the boxer so hard, that he was still brushing dog hair from between his teeth the following day.

Smog leads to the divorce of a chinese couple
A Beijing man is seeking to divorce his wife after she took their son to a tropical island province to escape the capital’s notorious smog, saying the long-distance relationship had destroyed their marriage, State media said on Thursday.The man, identified only by his family name of Wang, married his wife in 2008 and had a son two years later but their son developed serious health problems because of Beijing’s air pollution and his wife took the son to the southern resort island of Hainan to escape the haze.
However, Wang’s wife did not like Hainan and nor did she like living apart from him, and whenever the two of them met they fought, the report said. Fed up with this, Wang has filed for divorce in a Beijing court, the newspaper said.

A Krista Grubb never thought that working out with her 13-year-old son Mason Halye at the lA Fitness gym in Palm Harbor, Florida would get her membership revoked, but that’s just what happened.As reported by WTVT Fox 13, Grubb, a fitness trainer, was happy to guide her son as he began to lift weights.But when Grubb returned the next day, she discovered that her membership had been revoked. Grubb recalled, “I was told, ‘Well, the note here says that you were training people here and we have trainers that you know our customers pay for’.”

Teacher mistakenly hands out pornographic calendar
An Indiana mother is outraged over what she calls an inappropriate prize that was given to her son. The prize was a desk calendar that contained graphic and inappropriate material, given out on Friday to four Creston Middle School students in Warren Township.Bonnie Wright was made aware of the calendar when her 13-year-old son brought it home. He had used classroom ‘good behavior points’ to bid on the sealed calendar prize. The “Whoogle” 2013 calendar featured different things that people Google.
