Brazilian Bodybuilder Admits His 29-Inch Biceps Are Fake

When Brazilian bodybuilder Arlindo de Souza flexes his biceps, he looks like a modern-day Hercules. Truth is, he’s not as strong as his 29-inch biceps would have you believe, because they’re not solely the result of pumping iron. De Souza, 43, gets his massive musculature by injecting a concoction of mineral oil and alcohol into his body. The man known as “The Mountain” can’t lift any more weight than before he began with artificial enhancements two years ago, according to Barcroft TV.

De Souza, a bricklayer, wanted to become the big man at his local gym in Olinda, Brazil. He had already been taking steroids, hormones and horse vitamins when a gym buddy suggested he try a “site enhancement oil” for an extra advantage. “The guy gave it to me. He said, ‘Take this, it will make you grow in days’” de Souza said, according to the Mirror. “I loaded the syringe, put it in my arm, injected it and it swelled me up right there and then. To tell you the truth, I didn’t feel a thing. There was sometimes a bit of dizziness but nothing apart from that.” (Reuters)

Woman dead for six years found after money runs out

For six years the bills were paid, the grass was cut and no one noticed the body of the dead woman sitting in the back seat of a car in a garage of a residential Pontiac, Michigan neighbourhood. Her mummified body was finally found this week by someone dispatched to check on the property that fell into foreclosure after the money ran out of her account and the mortgage payments stopped, police said on Friday. “It is kind of the perfect storm for a mysterious set of circumstance and a challenge because of the extreme degradation of the body,” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a telephone interview. The woman has not yet been positively identified, but it is thought she is a person who stopped working in 2008 and had set up all of her bills to be paid automatically from her bank account. She is also thought to have worked as a contractor in the financial department for a major automobile company. A neighbour cut her lawn, her mail was sent to the post office and there was no family living nearby, Bouchard said. “The last withdrawal from her account was in March 2013,” he added. (Reuters)

Charlie The Dog’s life Saved By Drinking Vodka

You’re drunk, dog. Charlie, a Maltese terrier from Australia, was saved from certain death the first weekend in March by veterinarians who fed him copious amounts of vodka.Staff from Animal Accident and Emergency in Melbourne wrote on the facility’s blog that Charlie came in with a case of ethylene glycol poisoning. They wrote that ethylene glycol, an ingredient in antifreeze, tastes sweet but causes kidney failure when ingested.“In Australia, the only antidote we have is alcohol,” the blog states. “Alcohol alters the chemical reaction and stops the kidney failure from occurring.”

The pup was then hooked up to a frat boy’s dream: Charlie had a tube placed through his nose to his stomach. Over about 48 hours, he was given successive doses of alcohol. The easiest form of alcohol is vodka. In fact, for the whole weekend, Charlie had a huge party with us in the Pet ICU. “He was definitely drunk,” his owner, Jacinta Rosewarne, told the Herald Sun. “He was stumbling around, I’d go to pat him and he’d push me away like a normal drunk person, he was vomiting a little, whining like a drunk.”Charlie is now back to good health, and totally sober — for the time being. Charlie isn’t the only party dog saved by booze. In January, an American Staffordshire named Cleo received the same treatment after lapping up some anti-freeze. Please don’t ever try to give alcohol to your dog yourself, though. If you suspect that your pet has been poisoned, take him or her to a veterinarian immediately. (Huffington Post)

After Deadly Snake Bite, Man Grabs a Beer

What do you do when you’ve been bitten by one of the deadliest snakes in the worldIJ Crack open a beer, of course. That’s what Rod Sommerville, 54, of Australia, had in mind after he was nipped by a eastern brown snake in his backyard last month. After the bite, the Queensland man called emergency services, according to local reports. He then apparently grabbed a beer from the fridge and sat down to enjoy the brew while he waited for the ambulance to arrive. Sommerville reasoned that panicking would have made it worse. “I said to myself, ‘if I’m going to (die), I’m going to have a beer,’” he told the Rockhampton Morning Bulletin. Native to Australia, eastern brown snakes are highly venomous. (Huffington Post)

Family flees home after finding spiders

A family was forced to flee their home and have it fumigated after hundreds of potentially deadly spiders were found in a bunch of bananas bought at the local shop. Father Jamie Roberts, 31, spotted white patches of what he thought was mould covering the fruit. However, on closer inspection, he saw tiny legs and realised the bananas were hiding a nest of spiders. He soon discovered the creatures had spread to other parts of his home. The family called pest control and was told to immediately leave the house. The spiders have not been officially identified but the family believe that they could have been the world’s most poisonous spider, the Brazilian wandering spider. Guinness World Records lists the species as the most toxic spider on earth and its venom is said to be 30 times more powerful than that of a rattlesnake. (Reuters)
