PM holds Public darbar for 31 groups
New Delhi: After a long time, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday held a public darbar at his residence, meeting people from various sections of society and listening to their grievances and complaints. Singh met 31 groups, representing minorities, NGOs, artists and sportspersons.
Mandela’s funeral: Prez to lead Indian delegation
New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee is likely to represent India in the funeral of South African anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela on Dec 15. It is learnt that a proposal to this effect has gone to the President for his approval. The state funeral will be held in Mandela’s childhood home, Qunu village in the Eastern Cape Province.
