‘Salman Khan is just a call away’

Tell us about your role in Main Tera HeroIJ

It is an adaptation of a Telugu blockbuster Kandireega and I play Karan, a boy in search of his love. It’s an out-and-out youth and family entertainer. Nargis Fakhri is the leading lady and I am excited to be sharing screen space with such a talented actress.

What made you give your nod to this movieIJ

I saw the original film and just fell in love with it. I wanted to experiment with a romcom and I believed this was the right movie. I also have some action scenes in it.  I have been taking singing lessons since the movie is about a singer. The shooting will start from the first week of June and is scheduled for release on April 4, 2014. Other than that, the movie is directed by my dad David Dhawan.

Yourt views  on David DhawanIJ

I have grown up watching his films. I have given him my feedback on the ones I liked and also those which I didn’t. I don’t think he will be making a remake at present because he is neck-deep in new projects.

Who is your role modelIJ

My bother has been a great support system since childhood. Other than him, Salman Khan is always just a call away and ever-ready to offer his help.

Any plans to work with your brother Aditya DhawanIJ

I hope so, sometime in the future. He would obviously have to take my audition before casting me in his film. He is very strict person when it comes to work. But he is an amazing director and I would love to work with him.

Are you a technology buffIJ

With the frequent launch of smartphones which include all features you require to stay in touch with your friends and family and also on the work front, I have become a techie myself. Today, my life revolves around these smart gadgets. I carry an iPad and I have also been using the Panasonic P51 smartphone. It is stylish and sleek and I love to carry it.

How do you get along with your fatherIJ

He is an understanding father who has given us all the freedom to choose whatever we want to do. I am hoping that we bond well on the sets of this upcoming film too. I  am really excited about working with him.
