A 20-year-old DU student from Manipur was allegedly molested by a labourer in North Delhi, police said on Saturday. “The accused, identified as Mohammad Farmood (55), a native of Darbhanga district of Bihar, was arrested after being booked under Sections 354A (advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC, said a senior police official.
“The woman has a pet kitten which had ran into the grocery shop adjacent to her rented house. She lost track of the kitten till the entrance of the shop. The owner of the shop told her that he had last seen the kitten entering the store room. Inside the storeroom, the woman saw a labourer taking rest but it was too dark to look for the kitten. When she returned, the labourer advanced towards the woman allegedly in an indecent manner. The woman rushed out of the room and reported the matter at the police station,” the official added.
