The BJP claimed that the Uttar Pradesh Government has stepped up campaign against corruption and 11 employees, including two gazetted officers, were nabbed by the Vigilance Department after the party came to power in March.

A spokesman said that the suspension of Assistant Regional Transport Officer of Chanduli was part of the anti-corruption drive by the BJP regime.

The party maintained that as soon as the investigation against corrupt officers were completed, they would be arrested and sent to jail. The arrest of touts and brokers active around secretariat was also part of anti-corruption campaign of the Yogi Adityanath Government.

A BJP spokesperson Shalabhmani Tripathi said in lucknow on Saturday that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, soon after taking over, had asked officers to mend their style of working or face action. “Some officers are however averse to adopting the change in work culture introduced by the BJP regime. The Government is committed to the welfare of common people and officers failing to deliver will have to face action,” he said.

Tripathi said that the BJP has inherited a terribly corrupt administration and the new regime is working hard to put the house in order and make the State machinery transparent and accountable to people.  "In this direction, the Government was getting huge support from the people in reforming the State administration,” he said.
