Kings XI Punjab may have been out of the top-4 race but their captain Murali Vijay recently insisted that the team will play their remaining matches to show its character and pride and Manan Vohra on Tuesday echoed the same view, saying the Punjab outfit will give everything in its last two matches.
The opener said: “We will upset RCB today. They (RCB) have to win all their remaining games if they have to qualify for the play-offs and we can put a dent on their hopes.”
In a telephonic interaction with The Pioneer, Vohra said that the team’s atmosphere is good and everyone is upbeat for their next game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday. “Yes, today’s game is very important for our confidence and morale boosting.
We know what Kohli-AB combination can do. We have seen that in previous games. But that will not keep us down, it will only motivate us and we will try to beat them.”
When the teams met last time, it was Royal Challengers Bangalore who won the match by just one run as skipper Vijay’s 89-run knock went in vain as the team tumbled towards the end. So revenge will be on KXIP mind when they enter the field on Wednesday night and they will be gunning down to not only win the match but in the process to knock RCB also out of the top-4 race.
