Thriller at Thyagraj

Dabbang Delhi tied Telugu Titans 45-45 in a thriller at the Thyagraj Stadium on Tuesday in the second edition of Pro Kabaddi league.

With the tie, Delhi are just outside the semi-final qualification zone with 26 points from 12 games. Telugu Titans went top of the table with 45 points from 12 games as well. This puts Titans equal with U Mumba on 45 points.

Despite Kashiling Adake scoring a staggering 24 points — most in a single game so far — and reaching 200 points in the competition, he turned villain in the end but not without much controversy.

With seconds left and score reading 45-44, Adake went in for a raid and thinking he had touched an opponent shirt, he came back but he didn’t touch the baulk line in the process. Upon a long review, the referees gave Hyderabad a point for ‘Kashi’ not touching the baulk line after not touching a shirt.

Delhi team, after the match, decided to appeal the decision to the referee.

It could have been an easier day for Delhi had they made most of reducing Hyderabad to single players and been more convincing in their defense. With this spell of spectacular continuous super raids coming from both teams, the score started to rise and Delhi’s hopes of registering a win went in the opposite direction.

For Telugu Titans, star raider Rahul Chaudhari scored 13 points and Deepak Nivas Hudda picked up 11 points.

third win for jaipur

Jaipur Pink Panthers won their third match in a row and stayed five matches without losing after they beat Puneri Paltan 31-18.

The win kept Jaipur in third place to make the semi-finals with 31 points after 11 games. Things for Pune, continued to remain dire, as they haven’t won in the past four games. They stay bottom of the pile with 13 points after 9 games.

It was an overall team effort by Jaipur with no one shining over and above the others but that is where they excelled. Rajesh Narwal continued his dominant show with six points — the most in the match. He got good support from Sonu Narwal with five points in offense and Kuldeep Singh, Ran Singh with same number of points in defense.

The difference between the two teams came in their defensive abilities as Jaipur registered 12 points from tackles while their opponents got half of that. It also helped in setting up two all outs in favour of Jaipur, on either side of the half, that helped extend the difference between the two.
