Speaking about the team, he said, “The team combination is not good and I came aboard just a day before the first match of the new season. Before that I was with Sports Authority of India (SAI).

“If I was given full power to revamp the team, I would only retain four or maximum five players out of the current squad. Most of the players in the squad are injured and the substitutions that we have are not up to the level which I need.” he further added.

Meanwhile, the team captain Ravinder Pahal admitted that the team is not performing to the expectations. Dabang Delhi is placed at the bottom of the league table with only one win from nine games. “Yes, we are playing terribly bad this season. There is no proper discipline among the tem.  The combination is not right there.”

“After the first three matches, in which we suffered heavy defeats after taking the lead, we all were demotivated and the confidence was taken from our soul. Our left cover defender is poor and we need to work on that.” he further said. The captain also added that he will quit the Delhi team next season.

Also, present on the occasion and to motivate the Dabang Delhi team was Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor. She was also there to promote her new movie-Neerja.

“Kabaddi is all about team sport and me being a sports enthusiast myself I want Delhi team to win today against Telugu Titans. I used to play Basketball, as you can see from my height (she said laughingly). Then, I used to play Rugby and long Jump also,” she said.
