In a blow to Sri lankan women's team in the ongoing WT20, captain Shashikala Siriwardene has been ruled out of the cricket tournament on account of a hamstring injury just on the eve of their group match against Ireland here on Sunday.
Sri lankan's women team manager Vanessa de Silva said that Shashikala had suffered a hamstring tear. "It is about 5 cm tear, and she has to undergo a surgery. So, she is out of the entire World Cup and she will be going home," she said. She informed that the team has got approval from the ICC for a replacement player and Anushka Sanjeevani will be joining the team.
