Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic had their brush with Bollywood as the duo along with Sania Mirza indulged in some ‘fun tennis' with superstars Deepika Padukone, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh at the IPTl on Monday.
As Aamir Khan struggled to get his serve right, Federer and Djokovic egged him on. It took the Dhoom 3 star several attempts to just get the ball across to the other side of the court. leggy actress Deepika Padukone was no better at getting the shots in the right place. Although Padukone picked up some handy tips from the tennis greats before she marched off the court.
Akshay ‘Khiladi’ Kumar proved why he is known as an entertainer - the six feet actor did a head stand in front of the entire crowd and followed it up with a brisk one hand warm up exercises much to the awe of Djokovic who did his bit of flashy warm ups!
Not to be left far behind was Ritesh Deshmukh who upped the ante with his humorous moves. Sunil Gavaskar may have the best front foot shots to his name but the maestro discovered at the IPTl that tennis is no child's play. In his excitement, the cricketing superstar aimed for a few smashes, never mind that they were all over the place.
But even before the game of tennis began, Aamir Khan with his son in his arms and wife close on heels stole the show for fans who had gathered at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Khan also made an impressive entry with his tennis kit and went through with the drill before serving for the match.
Also spotted on the bench were the dazzling Twinkle Khanna and Anushka Sharma, friends of lara Dutta who were in Delhi to show off their sporty side.
