'No plans to return to WWE now'

Former WWE wrestler Dalip Singh Rana, popularly known as "The Great Khali" said he has no plans to move back to the lavishing show business in the near future. The gigantic grappler revealed here on Monday that he was looking for an exit for some time.

"I have no plans to go back to WWE for now. In fact, back in 2014 when I left WWE, it wasn't a sudden decision. I was planning to leave for a while but contractual obligation kept me there. When I was finally done with it, I came back for good," he said at the press conference of the new entrant of Premier Wrestling league: Veer Marathas.

Asked about his plans to go back to wrestling in USA later, Khali said he wants to oversee development of kids at his academy first. "I got 250 kids in my wrestling school now (in Punjab), who looks up to me; want to be like me. If I go back to US again, who will nurture themIJ They have expectations from me and I don't want to disappoint them," the 45-year-old said.

But he further added: But I am not saying I will never go back to WWE. I might go there but not forever; for a short period and come back here. I would be much happier to see my students going their instead; just like Kavita (Devi) did. She is my student and I am really proud to see her doing well there.

Talking about Veer Marathas, Khali said teams like them can play pivotal role in expanding the presence of wrestling in the country, which suffered due to lack of fund in the past. "Wrestling didn't have much money in the country previously and we lost lot of talents because of that but competitions like PWl brings money for the wrestlers and not just the top one but upcoming wrestlers too. And teams like Veer Marathas' willingness to work at grassroot level can help the sport grow further," he concluded.
