Afridi finds his love
No wonder Shahid Afridi had said that he gets more love in India. The swashbuckling all-rounder received the biggest of the cheer compared to any other player on the pitch. From the moment, he came for the toss, the Pakistan skipper was greeted with massive cheer and that continued for most of the game. The venue in general felt like a second home for the Pakistani players as they received more support from the crowd compared to their New Zealand counterparts.
Good response
Not often fans are expected to turn up for a match that does not involve the host team, but Tuesday's game was an exception to it. Even though India did not play, the crowd who showed for the New Zealand vs Pakistan match was pretty good. Half of the stadium was almost full.
Particularly, the stands near the far end, was virtually full. The good turn out might be as a result of this being the first men's match taking place at IS Bindra stadium in this World T20. A women's match took place here last Friday, when New Zealand beat Ireland.
