Paris Saint-Germain have revealed that Kylian Mbappé is expected to miss three weeks of action due to a sprained ankle.
Mbappé suffered the injury after being on the receiving end of a tackle from Saint-Étienne defender Loïc Perrin in the Coupe de France final on Friday.
PSG released an official statement which revealed that the 21-year-old underwent medical examinations on Monday following the injury.
The club confirmed that the striker had suffered a “sprained ankle with external ligament injury.”
The estimated recovery time for the injury is “around three weeks”, according to the Ligue 1 champions.
This will mean Mbappé will be a doubt for PSG’s Champions League quarter-final tie with Atalanta, which is scheduled to take place on August 12.
The World Cup winner will definitely miss the Coupe de la Ligue final against Lyon on Friday night.
