Lando Norris Targets Belgian GP Win to Extend F1 Winning Streak

Spa (Belgium), Jul 27 (AP) McLaren’s Lando Norris will start from pole position at the Belgian Grand Prix, aiming to continue his winning momentum and strengthen his Formula 1 title challenge against teammate Oscar Piastri.

The British driver is chasing a third consecutive Grand Prix victory, a feat that would mark a first in his F1 career. Norris recently secured an emotional home win at the British Grand Prix and is eager to carry that form into the challenging Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

With unpredictable weather conditions and the risk of rain in the Belgian forests, the race could become the second consecutive wet contest following Norris’ triumph in Britain.

Piastri narrowly missed pole position, qualifying second by less than a tenth of a second, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc secured third place on the grid. Defending world champion Max Verstappen will start fourth for Red Bull.

Piastri currently leads Norris by nine points in the drivers’ standings after finishing second in Saturday’s sprint race, where Verstappen claimed victory, followed by Piastri and Norris.
