The official logo along with the mascot for the All India Police Judo Cluster Championship (AIPJCC) was unveiled here on Monday in a  colourful ceremony.

The competition, the hosting rights of which have been handed to Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) by the All India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB), will be held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium from 17th April to 21st April.

This happens to be the second edition of the tournament, which came into the scenario following a split from the wrestling cluster in 2016 due to the inclusion of a large number of events in the latter group.

The first edition of the tournament was organised by West Bengal Police in Kolkata and had an emphatic participation of 900 competitors.

The Judo cluster includes four events: Judo, wushu, taekwondo and gymnastics, which are annually organised.

This year's competition has received participation from 34 organisations representing all Central Armed Police Forces and State Police from all over India. About 1,114 players (800 male and 314 female) have been registered to compete in their respective categories falling under the four disciplines. A total of 21 trophies and 212 medals are on offer for the competitors.

Moreover, the top medallists from across all four disciplines will be guaranteed participation in national and international level tournaments.

All action in the competition will begin on Tuesday after an opening ceremony which will have IPS KK Sharma as the chief guest.

SSB will also feliciate some eminent Arjuna Awardees from the Police Sports fraternity during Tuesday’s opening ceremony.
