Jaipur humble Delhi at home

Jaipur Pink Panthers leapfrogged Dabbang Delhi after the Bollywood actor Abhishek  Bachchan-owned side resoundingly beat the hosts 51-21 at the Thyagraj Stadium on Monday in the second edition of Pro Kabaddi league.

With this win, Jaipur jumped above Delhi and Patna Pirates into third with 26 points after 10 games. Delhi, on the other hand, remained outside the qualification zone for the semi-finals in sixth with 23 points after 11 games.

While Kashiling Adake and Rohit Kumar Choudhary shone for Delhi in their previous convincing win over Pirates on Sunday, nothing quite worked out for the Honnappa C Gowda led side against Jaipur.

Over on the other side, Rajesh Narwal was an absolute nightmare for Delhi throughout the night. He scored a staggering 19 points with 15 coming in raids and four in tackles. Jasvir Singh also chipped in with 9 points in raids.

The two sides were neck-and-neck in tackles but Jaipur were superior in raids.

At the half, Jaipur led Delhi by 19-9 but the gap between the two started to increase steadily as shoulders for the Delhi side started to go down. A fact captain Ravinder Singh Pahal attested too. “In the second half, we just gave up. We stopped trying completely,” he said.

Jasvir gave much of the credit of the win to Rajesh and Sonu Narwal. “They are great players. They’ve taken over much of the burden off my shoulders. Rajesh is a great raider and good in defence too. He’s what every team needs,” he added.
