India seek another win

After registering a dominant 2-0 win over France on Monday, India will look to extend that advantage when they face the French again at Wattignies Sports Centre on Wednesday.

Sardar Singh led side outplayed France on all fronts on Monday with goals from Chinglensana Singh and SV Sunil coming in the third quarter of the game.

The chemistry of the attack kept the opposition defence pegged back as Ramandeep Singh, Akashdeep Singh and Mandeep Singh continuously attacked on the opponent’s half and played most of the match in the French half.

Speaking after the first match, newly appointed coach Roelant Oltmans said, “The first match was very good and we played as per our strategies. The players displayed a good performance and controlled the match perfectly. We have tried some new strategies and team combinations, which yielded us positive results. Young players also successfully implemented the strategies on the field and helped the team to maintain the ball possession. We will continue our attacking game-plan in the next match also and try some new things.”

This will be India’s last match against France before they shift their focus to Spain.
