Have full faith in youngsters: Dravid

With just two wins from six matches, Delhi Daredevils are having a tough season in the IPl this year. But their coach Rahul Dravid has not lost confidence in his team, especially the youngsters. "I have full faith in the youngsters. We have played good cricket this season. It's a funny situation that we have the second highest net run-rate but are sixth in the points table. We have played well but haven't been able to finish matches. But I am confident that we can turn things around," the former India captain said on being asked whether his team would have benefitted by the presence of a senior batsman in the middle-order.

Talking on a different topic, the man known as the "wall" expressed his delight at the emergence of cricketers from small towns of the country.  "In the last few years, we have seen a lot of cricketers from small towns and villages making a mark, especially in domestic and under-19 cricket. That's because cricket allows one to go forward and become successful. We have seen that if players in small towns are given proper training and opportunities, they will come forward and succeed."

Dravid was of the opinion that cricketers not succeeding as players can look for other oppurtunities. "These days, you have to sacrifice a lot for achieving success in cricket. Those who can't make it big as cricketers should get skilled in various important aspects of the game. There are many different fields related to sports like, physiotherapy, nutrition, coaching among others which offer opportunities," said Rahul during a visit to Il&FS Institute of Skills (IIS) along with members of the Delhi team as well as Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy for supporting Skill India mission of the government.
