Gayle’s skill level was quite up

He certainly did what he does. He was outstanding in conditions that favoured the bat a lot more than the ball. We could have been better by the way we executed our skills I think. But when he got in he didn't give us any chances and took on our bowlers. He played Adil (Rashid) particularly very well. There are a number of plans to stop Gayle. We bowled short to him for a while, he countered that. He is a very difficult batsman to bowl to. He plays a couple of dot balls but also has the ability to take any of our bowlers down, just in one over. Tonight his skill level was quite up. Our plans were very good and execution of them was all right. But he is a world class player, he played really well tonight.

Gayle similar to De Villiers

I suppose to succeed there has to be an element of setting up yourself as a batter, you never really see Chris go from ball one and just like smashing, he definitely sets up himself up first and that's the same with AB. He plays best when he accesses the condition and see what's the bowler all about and then we he gets set, he is difficult to bowl to

let’s talk of Samuels

We all talk about Chris today, but Marlon (Samuels) set up the game, nicely first. The way he played, he took a lot of pressure off Chris and that's the way we have been trying to get him to play because when he plays like that he is a class act. He will get some 70/80s also and he will win games for us and he has to be commended for the way he took pressure off Gayle early
