Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who won the Euro 2020 Player of the tournament award on Sunday, penned a five-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, completing a free transfer from AC Milan.
The 22-year-old will reportedly pocket 12 million euros a season in the French capital, twice what he made at Milan.
The 30-time capped international was also reportedly linked with Juventus and Barcelona.
PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is now blessed with a wealth of options between the posts after last season’s first-choice shot-stopper, Keylor Navas, extended his terms through 2024. The Ligue 1 giants also have Sergio Rico and Alphonse Areola on their books.
Donnarumma featured over 200 times for the Rossoneri and backstopped them to second place in Serie A last season.
Rui signs for roma
On Tuesday, Portugal international goalkeeper Rui Patricio signed a three-year contract with Serie A club Roma from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 33-year-old becomes new Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho’s first signing in a deal which runs until June 2024 and is worth an initial 11.5 million euros ($13.5 million) plus bonuses.
“In Jose Mourinho we are talking about one of the greatest coaches in the world and I am excited to start working with him and doing everything I can to help the team,” said Patricio.
“Roma is a big club and a new challenge and I’m excited to try and help the club achieve its targets.”
Messi agrees deal
Barcelona have reached a deal on principle with Leo Messi for the Argentine veteran to remain with the Catalan club for another five years, but on a reduced wage, Spanish media reported on Wednesday.
Messi will sign a five-season contract with a release clause of 600 million euros ($709 million), according to Catalan sports daily L'Esportiu.
The player will reduce his wage by 50 percent and will earn in the region of 20 million euros basic next season.
