Dew won’t play as major role as it played in the preceding T20 series and it will be a typical low and slow wicket for the opening ODI between India and South Africa at the Green Park stadium here on Sunday.
MSD, speaking post the washout of the Kolkata T20 Thursday night, said that he would not want grassy pitches for the five ODIs but local officials overseeing the pitch preparations for the series opener here won’t pay heed to Dhoni’s demand. “The players can ask for whatever they want to but curators always try to prepare a wicket that produces a good game. All you can try to do is prepare a pitch that has a bit for both bowlers and batsmen,” a source said.
‘look at MSD’S place’
Former India fast bowler Ajit Agarkar has questioned Mahendra Singh Dhoni's place in the Indian team and urged the selectors to scrutinise his performance as a player as well as captain in the limited overs format.
"The selectors need to have a closer look at what MS Dhoni is doing, not just as captain, but as a player as well," Agarkar was quoted as saying by 'ESPNcricinfo'.
