legendary runner and coach, Rick Muhr, said on Friday that cycling and running complement each other, adding that it is wrong to single out one of the two as the better form of endurance-building exercise.
"I personally feel cycling and running complement each other. I am into cycling as well and I firmly believe had it not been for my cycling, I would not have been a successful runner," said Muhr who has completed 32 marathons.
When asked about his opinion on Indian running community, he said, "The zeal and enthusiasm among India runners is there for everyone to see. I met few runners in the park this morning and they were as dedicated as any running community in the world. With proper training equipments and under the guidance of world-class coaches, they will only get better."
Rick is in the country these days to launch 'Zero Runner', a training solution meant for marathoners. The equipment features mechanical hip and knee joints that mimic human biomechanics in running.
Muhr further said on the launch, "India is rapidly adopting the culture of fitness and running, people here are open to new techniques and training tools to improve their form. I am to be a part of Zero Runner launch in Delhi. It will be a great opportunity for me to share my experience and learning as an endurance runner and coach."
