'Clarke ahead of Cook in forward thinking'

Former England batsman Mark Butcher has backed the hosts to come good against Australia in the upcoming Ashes series but said that Michael Clarke is ahead of Alastair Cook in terms of “forward thinking” as a leader. Notwithstanding England’s recent success against New Zealand, Cook’s captaincy has continuously come under the scanner with Australian all-rounder Shane Watson also taking a dig at the leader’s lack of pro-activeness.
Even Butcher believes that Cook lacks on the initiative front. “That’s not an accusation that only Watson will be throwing at. For sure Cook is not as forward thinking as perhaps Michael Clarke would be as a captain. Having said that, you are quite beholden to how your bowlers fare,” Butcher said.
no let-up: starc
Mitchell Starc has told England there will be no let-up when they face Australia’s pace attack in the first Ashes Test in Cardiff on July 8. But with Australia’s squad also including Mitchell Johnson, as well as  Josh Hazlewood, Starc is looking forward to seeing England’s top-order batsmen unsettled by pace.
i am ready: cummins
Fast bowler Pat Cummins said on Monday he's ready for upcoming Ashes cricket test series in England. The 22-year-old has been called up to the Australia squad as a replacement for Ryan Harris. Cummins said, “ It is a fair leap but I have played quite a few games, so I do feel like the step-up isn't as big as it might've been a year or so ago,” he said. “I certainly feel ready for that step.”
