Brazil-England s/f shifted to Kolkata

Due to unplayable conditions at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati because of torrential rain in the region for the past few days, FIFA has decided to shift the venue of the first semifinal to Kolkata on Monday. Following a thorough assessment of the pitch conditions, FIFA has decided to move the venue of the semi-final between Brazil and England, due to be played on 25 October 2017, to Kolkata's Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan stadium, where the match will kick off at 17:00 local time, a FIFA statement read.

However, Brazil left for Guwahati on Monday morning after their win on Sunday. On the other hand, England reached that venue on Sunday.

FIFA has promised to refund the money of the fans, who possessed valid tickets of the Guwahati semi-final, and will also be allowed to get tickets for the rescheduled match before others.

"The second semi-final on that day, between Mali and Spain, will still kick off as planned at 20:00 local time at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai," confirmed FIFA.
