BCCI cracks whip on conflict of interest

BCCI cracked its whip on conflict of interest inside the sport with removal of Ravi Shastri as IPl Governing Council member while holding the post of India’s team director and axing of selector Roger Binny for perceived conflict as his son and all-rounder Stuart Binny plays for the national side.

On the removal of Binny as selector, BCCI president Shashank Manohar said the decision would ensure that the Stuart does not face criticism for being a selector’s son.

“The perception has to change, there should not be injustice on Stuart, we can’t destroy his career. He can’t be drawing flak that because he is Roger Binny’s son, he cannot play,” he explained after the AGM on Monday.
