Aggression is usually not supposed to help improve one’s performance. But, ace cricketer Virat Kohli feels that if one channelises one’s aggression in the right way, it can definitely help.
“Aggression comes naturally to me. And I believe it helps me. You got to channelise that aggression into performance. It lifts you and can be helpful,” the Indian team’s ODI vice-captain said during an event organised to announce his new endorsement deal with Adidas.
Duing the event, Kohli interacted with kids and advised them to take strong decisions on career. He also instructed kids to maintain good fitness level.
In reply to a young boy’s question on who is the toughest bowler to play against, Kohli said, “I have found two South African pacemen — Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel — really tough to play.”
On his preparation for the upcoming limited-overs series against Australia, Kohli said the hosts would not be taking their opposition lightly. “The Australia series is going to be competitive. Even without injured Michael Clarke, they are a strong side. But I am confident about winning the series. We are looking forward to a good start to a new season,” the 24-year-old said.
On Tendulkar he said that if he can achieve 60-70 percent of what the maestro has achieved, he would be more than happy.
“Hope I can play for the country for such a long span as Sachin (Tendulkar) has and remain as fit as he is. His fitness level is amazing. If I can achieve 60-70 per cent of what he has achieved so far in his career, I will be more than happy. His hardwork is really inspiring for the younger generation,” said Kohli.
