Never doubtful of his ability to be in the Test squad, Australian left-arm spinner Ashton Agar was nonetheless surprised at being called into the squad for the fourth and final Test.
The 21-year-old was added to the home squad keeping in consideration the turn that the Sydney track traditionally offers for tweakers. “It was completely out of the blue but it’s obviously very exciting and I’m very happy I got the call,” Agar was quoted as saying by the local media. “I was just over the moon. I think I was a bit shocked at first but after that it was just felt like a dream come true again. I have never doubted myself about that (getting back in the Test side),” added the spinner, who made a memorable Test debut last year scoring 98 runs while batting at number 11. Agar said he is not sure if he would be picked in the final XI against India.
