As per the message from high seas, at least six Indian boats along with 36 fishermen aboard were reportedly abducted by personnel of Pakistan Marine Security Agency (PMSA) on Saturday morning.

Secretary of National Fish Workers Forum, Manish lodhari said that message came from high seas about abduction of Indian boats by PMSA near International Maritime Boundary line (IMBl) off Gujarat coast. He however alleged that confirmation from the Pakistani authority was yet to come about the incident.

“Captured boats are from coastal town Porbandar in Saurashtra region of Gujarat. However, the fishermen on board were from different places, mostly from Gujarat. However various associations of fishermen as well as Government machineries are in the process of getting the exact details about the incident,” said lodhari, adding that a confirmed report of the incident would come from Pakistan-based fishermen’s association. According to him since August 2016, this is the third incident of abduction of Indian fishermen on IMBl off Gujarat coast by PMSA.
