India look to bounce back vs Australia
Bristol: Their four-match unbeaten streak brought to a halt, India will be keen to bounce back and take a step towards securing a semifinal spot when they take on the mighty Australia in the ICC Women's World Cup, here on Wednesday. India were on a rampaging run beating England, West Indies, Pakistan and Sri lanka before South Africa disturbed their momentum with a massive 115-run win. Similarly Australia's four-match unbeaten run was stopped by England in the previous game and they would also look to get back to winning ways. Neither of the teams have yet qualified for the semi-finals but Australia are in a better position by virtue of a strong net run-rate. The Aussies lost to England by just three runs, while India were defeated by a huge margin. In the previous game against South Africa, India had a great chance of sealing a semifinal berth but now they have their task cut out in the remaining round robin games against two strong teams in Australia and New Zealand.

India go down 1-4 to USA
Johannesburg: A dominant USA thrashed India 4-1 in their second Pool B match here at the Women's Hockey World league Semi Final here. There was plenty of action in the first quarter with USA keeping India's goalkeeper Savita busy at the post. Indian eves were wasteful in first two quarters. USA however didn't fumble when given a chance. Jill Witmer gave lead to US in 24th minute. Minz scored the equaliser in the 38th minute. Though India played on par with the higher-ranked USA in the first two quarter, USA ran away with the game in remaining quarters. A miscalculated attempt to defend on India's part saw Taylor West (40') score USA's second goal. Witmer scored her second goal of the match to extend USA's lead to 3-1 in the 43rd minute. USA scored the fourth goal in the 49th minute. Agencies
