He won a Silver medal at Snow Shoeing 100 mtr race with a timing of 19.55 seconds. Shamsher's father is a retired army officer while his mother is a home maker. Intellectual disability and cerebral palsy could not deter him in his quest for glory. The female cadre, consisting of 41 athletes and 11 coaches did no less. 16 year old Jyoti Bala from Dharamshala won Bronze in Snow Shoeing 100 m race with a time of 32.39 seconds with the Gold and Silver going to Malaysia and Uzbekistan respectively. Being third amongst four sisters and intellectual disabilities had dampened all hopes of her parents who run a small shop. But thanks to her willpower, she has left them all stumped!

BCCI & CA partner for exchange programs

New Delhi: The National Cricket Academy (NCA) has undertaken an initiative to conduct a refresher course for the existing accredited coaches of the BCCI in conjunction with Cricket Australia. "In pursuance of this objective, the BCCI and CA have partnered to conduct this course and CA was gracious enough to readily accept and depute their faculty to conduct the level 2 coaching courses at the NCA from March 21 to April 1, 2017," the BCCI said in a release on Tuesday. "During this period two batches of 25 coaches each will participate and moves are afoot to have more such courses in batches, to re-certify all the BCCI qualified coaches." The first batch has 25 women coaches attending the program and the second batch has 25 men coaches participating in this course. "The opening session of the program detailed the approach and methodology in coaching, which has seen a paradigm shift, and this proves that the initiative to update the coaches on the contemporary methodologies, is a move in the right direction. The curriculum of the course will stress upon the importance of exchanging information and widening the knowledge base by way of multiple interactions with the coaches," the Board stated in the release.

Kohli is Trump of world sport: oz media

New Delhi: Australian media on Tuesday dubbed India captain Virat Kohli as Donald Trump of world sport and accused him of spreading fake news regarding their players. An article in the Daily Telegraph not only criticised Kohli for his unsubstantiated claims but also expressed disappointment that neither the BCCI nor the ICC has taken any action against him. "Virat Kohli has become the Donald Trump of world sport," read the article. "Just like President Trump, Kohli decided to blame the media as a means of trying to hide the egg smeared right across his face. The Indian captain is a law unto himself with no one — not even the ICC or his own board — holding him accountable for his continual perpetuation of fake news." The ongoing series had seen a lot of off field fireworks with Kohli saying Steve Smith repeatedly took help from his dressing room while taking DRS decisions.
