‘NOT TOO WORRIED ABOUT GAYlE'S FORM’

Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli on Monday said that Chris Gayle's indifferent form is not a cause of worry as he feels that the dashing Jamaican is just one knock away from a big score. Gayle has had scores of 1 and 0 in the first two matches for RCB and if one counts from the ICC World T20, he has not been able to hit double digits in five consecutive games. "I am sure he will come good at some stage of the tournament. Probably, he may get hundred for us when it's required the most. I am not too worried about Gayle, because the other guys are stepping up nicely. Cricket is all about grabbing the opportunity, if some others fail," Kohli said.

‘VOHRA HAS STARTED BUIlDING HIS INNINGS’

mohali: Kings XI Punjab captain David Miller was full of praise for young opener Manan Vohra, whom he feels has started to focus on building his innings. Manan was adjudged Man of the Match for his 51 against Pune Supergiants and he has also contributed 30 plus scores in the first two matches for KXIP. "I think he (Manan) is starting to construct his innings really well. He has been off to great starts in the past also. He even did well two years ago. I think for him,  it is important to keep learning and to try and contribute a bit more in the middle overs. It was good for him to have a knock like that. Manan is a young player and he has a lot of talent and bright future ahead of him," Miller said after the match.

KANPUR lIKElY TO HOST ONlY ONE MATCH

kanpur: Kanpur's Green Park Stadium is likely to host just one match in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier league instead of two due to pressing logistical issues Kanpur has showed a lot of eagerness to host at least two IPl games this season but it now has to be satisfied with only one. First and foremost reason being there is just one five-star hotel in the city and secondly, the nearest airport to Kanpur is situated in  lucknow, which is about 71 kms from the city.

‘MSD IS THE BEST UNDER PRESSURE’

New Delhi: Hailing M S Dhoni as the best Indian captain in "pressure situations", veteran pace bowler Ashish Nehra expressed his regret of not responding to feelers that the skipper had sent him to make a Test comeback in 2009, which would have helped him play more than the 17 matches. The soon-to-be 37, Nehra has made a remarkable comeback albeit in the shortest format and his stupendous performance in the World T20 led to his selection in the 'Team of the Tournament'. "Right from my debut under Mohammed Azharuddin (in 1999), I have played under so many captains but when it comes to remaining cool and delivering under pressure, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the best." Nehra answered to a query from PTI during a special show organised by the ‘ABP News'.

192 WAS AlWAYS GETTABlE: DE KOCK

bengaluru: Delhi Darevils opener Quinton de Kock, who scored the first century of the ninth edition of Indian Premier league, said that 192 against RCB was always a gettable target on a good batting track like the one at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. "We were confident of chasing 192 because it was gettable on a batting track like this and to achieve that we focused on saving wickets till the end trying to capitalize by accelerating in last overs," De Kock said.
