Vijender to face Royer

london: Indian boxing star Vijender Singh will take on experienced Frenchman Matiouze Royer in his fifth professional bout here on April 30. The unbeaten Indian, who has won all his previous four bouts via knockouts, will fight on the undercard of Billy Joe Saunders' world title defence against Max Bursak at Stratford's Copper Box Arena. Federer beats Garcia-lopez in comeback

MONACO: Roger Federer made a successful return following knee surgery, beating Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-lopez 6-3, 6-4 in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters on Tuesday. Federer hadn't played since losing to top-ranked Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open semifinals in late January and arthroscopic surgery Feb 3 for torn cartilage in his left knee. He was scheduled to play at the Miami Masters two weeks ago but pulled out because of a stomach virus. In sunny conditions, Federer looked untroubled before a rare blip saw him broken at love serving for the match at 5-2. But he concluded his straight-set victory by winning his next service game. Earlier, Andy Murray beat Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

AC Milan's coach Mihajlovic fired

MIlAN: AC Milan fired coach Sinisa Mihajlovic on Tuesday and replaced him with youth team coach Cristian Brocchi until the end of the season. The decision had been expected since Monday night when club owner Silvio Berlusconi met with Brocchi and vice president Adriano Galliano for about three hours. Brocchi becomes Milan's fifth coach in little more than two years. It is Brocchi's first senior coaching role. He will take charge of his first training session on Tuesday afternoon and be presented at a news conference the following day. Milan is without a win in its past five matches, losing three of them, to leave it in danger of failing to qualify for Europe.          Agencies
