Tremors force Gujarat lions squad to evacuate hotel

mohali: Players of Indian Premier league (IPl) outfit Gujarat lions were evacuated from their hotel here on Sunday after an earthquake with its epicentre in Afghanistan rocked several cities across northern India. The earthquake, measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale, had its epicentre in the Hindukush mountains on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan.  Australian pacer Andrew Tye was reminded of the devastating earthquake in Nepal last year as he was guided out of the building. "I was sitting on the end of my bed fixing a cricket bat and it felt like the bed started to move. I was like 'what happened there' and I looked around the room and certain things were shaking, so I thought 'it must be an earthquake'. There was a bit of commotion in the hallway and we rushed outside," Tye was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au. "I immediately thought back to Nepal last year around a similar sort of time. I know how devastating that was. I was more worried for other people rather than myself."
