Mudgal to oversee IPl matches at Kotla

New Delhi: Delhi High Court on Thursday appointed Justice (Retd) Mukul Mudgal as observer to oversee the affairs of the upcoming IPl 2016 matches at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium here. A bench of justices S Muralidhar and Vibhu Bakhru directed Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) to extend "full co-operation" to Justice Mudgal, who was also a judge of the Delhi High Court before his elevation as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Narine may miss Knight Riders' opener

"We are certainly not putting any pressure on him to get back. When he's right and he feels he's ready to play cricket he will come to us." Narine, who has pulled out of the World Twenty20 because of his suspect action, has remodelled his action and Kallis said they're hopeful to get a positive verdict from the ICC.

Shifting IPl matches not solution: laxman

Hyderabad: Amid the furore over water being used to maintain cricket pitches for IPl games in drought-hit Maharashtra, Sunrisers Hyderabad mentor VVS laxman on Thursday said shifting matches is not a solution for what is now a national problem. "I don't think that it is a solution. You have to find out the root cause of the main problem. As I mentioned, it's been bad as far as monsoon are concerned. It's not only a problem in one state but throughout the country. So, shifting from Mumbai will not be a real solution," he told.
