WICB hopeful of BCCI lifting suspension

kingston: The West Indies Cricket Board is hopeful of the BCCI lifting the suspension of bilateral series after the Caribbeans pulled out midway through the India tour last October with the Indian Board likely to deliberate on it in its Annual General Body Meeting on November 9. The BCCI had slapped punitive damages on WICB amounting to USD 41.97 million for the abandonment of the India tour, besides suspending any bilateral series between the two countries. But the WICB officials are now hopeful that a resolution could be worked out. "We are certainly on the road to resolution," Muirhead was quoted as saying by ‘ESPNcricinfo'. "We had discussions on the resolution of the impasse that currently exists. It was very, very cordial. We discussed everything that would affect us at length. We were sure that a resolution would be forthcoming in the very near future. We are hoping that it will take root at the AGM," he further added.
