KP joins SRH squad
HYDERABAD: Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday announced the arrival of former England skipper Kevin Pietersen who will join the team here on Friday. The swashbuckling batsman was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in this year's auction but was allowed to return home to play county cricket at his request, a statement from the franchise said. "He will return to India adding additional firepower to the Orange Army's top order as it bids to seal a top-four berth, he will be available for selection for Sunrisers Hyderabad's last home game against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, 17th of May," it said. Pietersen, or KP as he is known, made his IPl debut in 2009 and has played 32 games so far, scoring 928 runs at a strike rate of 136.07.
Akram guides Arjun Tendulkar
MUMBAI: Former Pakistan left arm pace great and MI's mentor Wasim Akram was seen giving bowling tips to budding pacer, Arjun Tendulkar, at the Wankhede Stadium here on Wednesday. "I met Arjun Tendulkar last summer in England. We played an exhibition game and I was standing at mid-on when he was bowling. He got Brian lara out," said Akram ahead of Thursday's IPl game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. "He's young, only 15-year-old. He's keen and is a left arm medium pacer. Obviously the fitness is very, very crucial. He's like a sponge, very eager (learner), that's a good thing," Akram said.
‘We don't chop and change’
New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings have been a dominant side in the IPl over the years and all-rounder Dwayne Bravo feels the reason for their success is that they have stuck to a core set of players without much chopping and changing. "The most important thing is that we don't chop and change the team. The management is doing a very good job, whether it's in the auctions or selecting a playing XI. They try and stick to a core of players.
