‘I couldn’t sleep after my shot’

Mumbai: left sleepless the last time he played a bad shot against Mumbai Indians, in-form Rajasthan Royals batsman Ajinkya Rahane said he was desperate to set the record straight which helped him notch up the sublime 91-run knock on Sunday. “I was really hurt when I got out (for 16 to R Vinay Kumar) in the last game. I could not sleep that night and was all the time thinking about my shot and about the loss. I just wanted to make it count I knew I was batting really well. Once I was in after 6-7 overs, I was planning to bat for 20 overs,” said Rahane.

We let ourselves down, says JP Duminy

Mumbai: Delhi Daredevils skipper Jean-Paul Duminy blamed poor batting and fielding as well as lack of intensity for his team’s 14-run loss to Rajasthan Royals In an IPl cricket match at the Brabourne Stadium here. “I don’t think we bowled particularly well. Also, in the field we let ourselves down. It was not only about dropped catches but about our body language. The intensity wasn’t there,” said South African Duminy whose 56 for a lost cause was one of the few bright spots for Daredevils.

Tournament still wide open: mathews

Mumbai: Delhi are enduring an inconsistent campaign but Angelo Mathews is confident that the side can turn it around and make the play-offs. “We played pretty well against Mumbai (on April 23). We have another chance to play against Mumbai. We need to win and keep in contention. It’s still a wide open tournament,” said the Sri lankan ahead of the MI clash. “Anyone can have a bad day. Mumbai can have a bad day. We need to focus on our performance,” he said about Delhi’s prospects.
