lady luck smiled on two kids from the Capital as they earned themselves tickets to the upcoming football World Cup after being chosen as ‘Adidas FIFA flagbearers’ for the mega event in Brazil.
Mihir Batra from St. Columba’s School and Jasen Moses of Mother’s International School, were selected out of 500 kids from the city, and they will be flying to Sao Paulo for a pre-quarterfinal match on July 1.Pietersen announced the name of the winners. The World Cup is slated to be held from June 12 to July 13. Six children, four to be selected from other cities, will head to Sao Paulo to see a round of 16 match at the mecca of football.Tushar Goculdas, brand director, adidas India, added, “It is the most exciting opportunity for young football fans in the country- bringing them close to the action on the pitch and the players they love.”
