Mr Joe B Carvalho
Starring: Arshad Warsi, Soha Ali Khan, Javed Jaffrey, Vijay Raaz
Rated: 2/10
If there was one film that deserved to get negative marking it will perhaps be Mr Joe B Carvalho. If director Samir Tewari was aiming to make this one a comedy, he failed miserably. The film doesn’t even manage to get a smile let alone offer a laugh out loud moment.
Then there is the storyline which doesn’t make sense accept that there are too many characters all converging at one point all the time to what the director thought would lead to a funny situation. But it is a big yawn especially the dialogues. Here’s a sample — Maut, p**ty, aur Carlos kabhi bhi kahi bhi aa sakte hain and Tumhara pyaar underwear ki tarah nikla, jiska elastic aakhir dheela padh hi gaya. If this was not bad enough, one has to endure Warsi get into a punching mode with a baby in the tummy! Mr Warsi, are you really that desperate for roles that you will say yes to the first movie that comes your wayIJ
As for Soha Ali Khan, she tries too hard to look sexy — she is seen wearing a two-piece bikini — but since her character has nothing much to do, there is no impact. The rest of the starcast, and they are big — Shakti Kapoor, Ranjit and Javed Jaffrey walk in and out of the frame at regular intervals. It is a waste of good talent. With a DiCaprio and Sholay 3D movies releasing this week, give this one a miss.
