ANGAD HASIJA is back on TV with Saubhagyalakshmi. He tells PRAKRITI ROY about the show and how TV has changed over the years

How does it feel reprising your popular jodi with Sara KhanIJ

It is actually the third time we have been cast opposite each other. We’ve been friends for nine years now. So going on the set and working doesn’t really feel like work. It is more like chilling, even with the other cast members.

There were reports of Saubhagyalakshmi going off air...

Those reports have been there since the first season, Bhagyalakshmi. But these are just rumours. It’s a new show, people are liking it, and it’s doing quite well. If the time slot is changing, I don’t really know about that.

How much has TV changed sinceBidaaiIJ

There have been so many changes, especially in terms of content. Now, more serials are made keeping in mind a youthful audience. The dialogues have been toned down to suit real style of talking.

Why did you refuse Bigg BossIJ

I just get scared of it. It’s not really for me. I don’t want to go there, lose my cool and fight with my friends, because those situations are somehow created there. You get so frustrated. I don’t want my fans to see me like that.

Do you feel that TV is losing out on quality and contentIJ

TV is an experiment. You show what people like, what they connect with. Somehow, the contemporary flavor in a show doesn’t last long. But the appearance of characters has definitely been toned down to look more real.
