As the title suggests, this one is not your average commercial film. Since it doesn’t cater to the general masses, the down side is that it drags too much. So much so that one can walk out and walk in after 15 minutes and yet not miss the beat of the movie.

The attempt to reiterate that the real world is materialistic and in order to survive in this big bad place, one should not stick one’s neck out has been brought out rather beautifully. Unfortunately, it is the pace — it’s killingly slow — of Njan Steve lopez that kills the message that director Rajeev Ravi, who has been a part of films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Dev D wants to put across.

The upside is that the realism in the film with a big dosage of naïveté has been well fleshed out. Farhan Faasil, who plays the protagonist, has to be commended for his performance. Instead of being the hero and fight the system, he gets sucked into it and pays a heavy price in the end. The movie is for those who believe in watching reality cinema rather than a hero fighting 50 men together and coming out a winner.
