Motu Patlu: King of Kings
Cast (voice over): Saurav Chakraborty, Omi Sharma
Rated: 5/10
That Bollywood can’t ever make animation as good as Hollywood has been reiterated in this movie that has been directed by Suhas D Kadavand and produced by Ketan Mehta. For those who are not familiar with these characters, the film is based on popular TV series (that airs on Nickelodeon, ) Motu Patlu, which is adapted from the characters published by lotpot magazine.
At some level it is good that India is also making its own version of cartoon films. But if one were to compare animation movies that Bollywood has churned out in the last few years and what comes out of Hollywood kitty, one just wishes that Bollywood never made animation film ever again. Motu Patlu... is perhaps the worst kind that one has seen in the recent past.
The animation-action is bad and so is Motu Patlu even if they are home-grown. But they do have a fan following and this is where the kiddies come in. They are sure to enjoy this one as there are several antics that may appear juvenile to an adult but will have the children in splits.
This is festive time and the exams are over, so parents can treat their kids to this one.
