The fans of the Fast and Furious series will not only go gaga over the absolutely brilliant stunts that has been dolled out by Hollywood, they will end up clapping in the end at the emotions that this last movie in the series evokes.
For Paul Walker fans, may his soul rest in peace, this ride is just not about the latest cars or the OTT stunts. Just imagine — five cars jumping off a plane (with parachutes) and landing on the road without taking a break is something that needs to be seen for its impact to be experienced. If this is not enough, one has Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) take a dive off the cliff and come out of it unscratched!
So, FF7 is all about being bigger, faster and more furious. Add to it is the fact that it still has Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham as the villain, the film could not have got any more amazing. Cars flying and going from one building to another from 100-plus floor before falling off the last one while the guests look on, bullets being fired and hand to hand combat, it is after a street fight. Dom lifting a car with his hands while Brian slides under it.
What defies all logic is when Deckard and Dom have a head on collision, not once but twice, and still survive it! It is a sight not to be missed even if these sequences have a total disregard to all laws related to physics. This ride is crazy and insane and yet it entertains you from the word go. It is an attempt to make the impossible make plausible in the minds of the viewers.
Since the movie series began back in 2001, the actions have only form from point break to being jaw-dropping awesome. The slick switches — rescuing a hacker — made from one car to another smoothly is something that one would only associate with FF movies. And believe it or not when it comes to stunts, director James Wan has left no stone unturned. Nothing has been left out from this one — as Toretto keeps saying — this is one last ride and he doesn’t have friends, he has a family.
And sure enough, the chemistry the actors share on-screen is an absolute delight to watch. They way the interact with each other and joke and pull each other’s leg makes FF7 an entertaining experience. This last ride is a must watch. Don’t miss this one even if you are not FF movies fan — go see it for Walker’s last ride especially his shots that are shown at the end of the film from the previous prequels. The goodbye is sure to leave one teary-eyed.
