Blue Mountain
Cast: Ranvir Shorey, Gracy Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Simran Sharma, Arif Zakaria, Yatharth Ratnum
Rated: 5/10
What you see here may have been taken from what actually happened to young Yatharth Ratnum when he was part of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa li’l Champs back in 2009. However, the film does say that it is a work of fiction.
As far as the concept of the story goes, it is brilliant but then with so many reality shows on TV today, we all know what happens to the children who never reach the No 1 slot. So, while the film is about children, it is a movie that all parents must see.
WhyIJ Because, through the movie, it is a lesson for all those parents who want to fulfill their unfulfilled dreams through their children. Of course, there are many parents who will shake their heads and say ‘my child is not weak’. It is not about being weak or strong. It is about how well parents teach their child life’s most important lesson — how to handle failure.
As for the acting, Ranvir Shorey and Gracy Singh as parents give a passable performance. The only person who do manage to hold your attention are Rajpal Yadav as the town’s dhoodhwala and Arif Zakaria, who plays the principal.
Go see this one if you are the kind of person who gets depressed easily and need a lesson on how to get back on your feet.
