Terrence puts stage on fire

SET’s Super Dancer – Chapter 4 continues to mesmerise the judges, the audience and especially the guest judges who witness such young talents give top-notch performances. This weekend judges — Geeta Kapur and Anurag Basu will be accompanied by guests Malaika Arora and Terence Lewis.

While all the dance performances amazed all the four judges, there was one contestant that compelled Terence to get on stage and perform with her. Sprihaa Kashyap from Morigaon Assam stunned the judges with her contemporary dance performance on the song Janam Janam along with super guru Sanam Johar.

Malaika Arora said: “Outstanding, I can’t believe it. It is very difficult to perform a dance act of this genre with a kid, but Sanam, you made it look so delicate. Sprihaa, you are a very dedicated student. You are a delight, Sprihaa”.

Terence Lewis: “I have known Sanam for years now, he has got years of experience, but Sprihaa, you have matched Sanam so beautifully. At such a small age you can do this, it is incredible. It’s superbly executed act. I wish to be born again with the kind of flexibility Sprihaa has.”

Anurag dada, who seemed proud of all the contestants said: “The act was poetry in motion. I am speechless. We all are missing Shilpa, so on her behalf, let us get the seedhi”. Terence and Malaika both got on the seedhi (ladder) along with Sprihaa. Geeta Kapur did sajda and said: “We listen to music, but today, I saw music on this stage.”

‘i’m Thrilled to play a cop’

It’s only been a few hours and the trailer of Amazon Prime Video’s first-ever supernatural thriller, The Last Hour has been making the right noise, with the audience eagerly waiting for the show to premiere on May 14, 2021. The story follows cop Arup Singh played by Sanjay Kapoor and Lipika Bora played by Shahana Goswami who try to uncover the mysterious deaths that take place in the valley with the help of a Shaman played by Karma Takapa.

Talking about the show, Shahana said: “When I read the script, I was really in awe. It felt like I was reading a thriller book which I couldn’t put down. I really liked how something as complex as shamanic traditions was weaved in, in a beautiful and subtle way.”

Sharing more about her experience of playing the role of a cop, Shahana quips how that was another motivating factor for her to be a part of this show. She says: “I have never played the role of a cop in my entire career. So when I was offered the part,  that was a big draw for me as well. I hadn't ever held a gun and got to hold a real gun! This show gave me the opportunity to tick that off the list.”

The Last Hour which stars Sanjay Kapoor, Shahana Goswami, Karma Takapa, Raima Sen, Shaylee Krishen and Robin Tamang premieres on May 14, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video in 240+ countries. The series is created, written and produced by Amit Kumar and Anupama Minz, and executive produced by Amit Kumar and Academy Award and four-time BAFTA award winner, Asif Kapadia.

Special message from Drew

The Covid-19 crisis in India has garnered global attention with support from all corners of the world. This time, it is none other than Hollywood's A-list celebrity herself who has joined the cause. An award-winning actor, businessperson, mother, humanitarian, and a cultural icon — Drew Barrymore has shared a personal, heartfelt message dedicated to the people of India. Known for being a beacon of hope, positivity and full of optimism, a candid Drew takes a moment to share her love and connection with India and the concern around the current situation. In a video shot on the sets of her latest The Drew Barrymore Show that airs in India on Zee Café, the actor makes an appeal to help as she urges people to have faith in the light at the end of the tunnel. Here it goes.

This one's a special message to the people of India. A lot of you guys already know of my deep-rooted connection with the country and how I've always loved India for its culture, its people and so much more! It truly holds a very special place in my heart.  In my visits, I've met so many wonderful people who've truly inspired me as a person which propelled me to write a chapter in my book too. Today, as we cope with the worldwide situation, my heart goes out to the people of India who're trying hard to hold it together. My sincere wishes and prayers to you to stay strong and believe that we will come out stronger together.

I came across a couple of articles online that truly invigorated a sense of faith and positivity in me, like a 110-year-old Covid-19 survivor in India, or how a man donating his entire life's savings towards relief. Countless people, celebrities and organizations coming together and pledging support, people starting food centres and relief groups — and this is truly the need of the hour. A small contribution could really help and make a giant difference, and even save a life!

I’m doing my bit and urge you to do whatever is in your capacity.

Most importantly, I’m sending you a lot of love, healing and prayers and faith in the light at the end of this dark tunnel.

Anjum all praise for her mother

Anjum Fakih has entertained the audience over the past decade with her infectious gusto and exquisite acting. She has worked across a range of TV shows, however Zee TV's Kundali Bhagya gave her the fanfare and recognition that she deserved. The actress has impressed one and all as Srishti, but did you know that she had to face a lot of challenges on the family front to be an actress? Initially, her family and relatives weren't supportive of her decision, but they are proud of her now and through this all, the important life lessons that she learnt from her mom guided her through the testing phase of her life. On Mother's Day, the actress opens up about how important her mother has been for her and how she learnt different languages so that Anjum could get the best education possible.

Talking about the things that she learnt from her mother, Anjum revealed: “Over the past few years, my mom and I have grown close. She is my best friend and confidante and I share everything with her. She is my go-to person. One life lesson by my mother that is etched on my mind and has become a part of my personality is when she told me to never lie. She has instilled the value of speaking the truth and standing up against the wrong in us and that value has stayed with us since our childhood. It helps me stay true to my craft too and be a good and trust-worthy person and I can't thank my mom enough for it.”

Anjum also spoke about how her mom went the extra mile for her, as she added: “One memory that I have of my mother is of her putting in the efforts to make sure that we have a good education. Although she studied in an Urdu medium school, she studied English, Hindi and Marathi to ensure that she can teach us, and we get the best possible education and become independent. She has been a strong support system for us all.

This Mother's Day I would like to thank my mom for all that she has done and all that she does for us selflessly. Today we are what we are because of the values she has instilled in us. Her efforts and love have made us stronger and independent. Thank you Mom for taking that leap of faith and the unwavering support.”
